Leon Bernsdorf, Dmitry Mayboroda and Chun Wang, finalists of the 59th Jaén International Piano Competition

The German Leon Bernsdorf, the Russian Dmitry Mayboroda and the Chinese Chun Wang are the three finalists of the 59th Jaén International Piano Competition, held by the City Council. The Ciudad de Granada Orchestra, under the direction of Paul Mann, will be performing with them during the final, Friday 28, from 19:00 at the Infanta Leonor theatre.

Leon Bernsdorf, SOM Alum, Wins 3rd Prize in Liszt Ferenc International Piano Competition

Leon Bernsdorf, CFA ’14 & ’16, won third prize at the Fourteenth Liszt Ferenc International Piano Competition in Budapest, Hungary on September 11, 2016. Bernsdorf completed a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance in  2014, followed by a Master of Music in Piano Performance in 2016. During his time at Boston University, Bernsdorf studied with Professors Boaz Sharon and Pavel Nersesiyan.

This time the partner of the Orchestra will be the promising talent, Leon Bernsdorf, who participated in the III Liszt Ferenc International Piano Competition III. ranked. We interviewed him - we did it at the request of the artist.

BU Piano Student Leon Bernsdorf Wins 2nd Prize in Moscow’s Liszt Competition

The Central Music School in Moscow of the famous Tchaikovsky Conservatory held their Second International Liszt Piano Competition this past week.  The School, founded in 1935 is recognized as a leading institution for musically gifted children. Many outstanding artists like Mstislav Rostropovich, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Natalia Gutman, Gennady Rozhdestvensky and many more studied there.
